USA Today has an interesting piece on a growing trend afflicting mud and obstacle course racing : as more and more obstacle course and mud run companies spring to life, the possibility of your event getting cancelled grows.
In July the 5K Foam Fest closed shop, leaving thousands of people in more than 40 remaining stops across the country without an event. In West Virginia, organizers of the Dirty Girls Mud Run told registered runners not to bother showing up for the July 26 race.
It is a new industry, and some of the less established players are a little fly by night. Have you or someone you know had an obstacle race get cancelled?
